1996 Grant Park Symphony
In an extremely special shows, Poi Dog Pondering played Pomegranate in its enitirey with the Grant Park Symphony Orchestra before a crowd estimated at 50,000.
1996 Vic
These special shows at the Vic capture Poi Dog Pondering firing on all cylinders. The multi-night run was captured and released as the double live album, Liquid White Light.
1997 Dennis Rodman Birthday
In one of the zanier shows ever, Poi Dog Pondering played at Drink, a club owned by NBA legend, Dennis Rodman. Rodman spent most of the show handing out drinks on stage. 1997 Tower Record
PdP played an in-story concert and then signed copies of Liquid White Light for fans at a Tower Records in Lincoln Park. PdP returned to Grant Park for a special concert in honor of participants in a charity walk. The concert was broadcast live on WXRT.
1998 Alpine Valley
Poi Dog Pondering opened for the Dave Matthews Band during a leg of its 1998 tour.
1998 Metro
In what has been billed the Week of Poi (May, 1998) the band played Metro twice, Park West, a breakfast show at Michael Jordan's for WXRT and then headed out on tour.

1998 The Dave Matthew Band Tour
In 1998 Poi Dog Pondering was invited to open for the Dave Matthew Band on several dates, including Alpine Valley and Red Rocks. The band also did a show of their own in Boulder at the Fox Theater.
1999 New Years Eve at Metro
Poi Dog Pondering closed out the millenium spending Y2K at Metro. The world didn't end, and we wished the show didn't either. These shows were captured live and relased as "Soul Sonic Orchestra."
1999 Soldier Field
Poi Dog Pondering was invited to play Soldier Field follwing a Chicago Fire match. This show saw the debut of Rick, Carla, Charlette and more, as well as the debut of Paul Mertens on... guitar?
1999 The Vic
Poi played an epic run of sold-out shows culminating in a "fan appreciation" show available only through its email list. One show was even webcast for all the folks who couldn't get in.
